About Me

Bienvenidos! My name is Amber and I am on a journey to becoming an expat. My favorite person and I moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA in October 2012. It's true. We quit our jobs, took the summer off, and got ourselves down here. It is a journey. It is exciting and fun and hard and weird to up and move to another country with another language, with only clothes and a partner in crime. But we're doing it. Because...it's time!

This blog is meant to share the work and research I've put in to making this trip happen in the hopes that it can be an up-to-date, honest resource for those that look to come after me. Excited by the BA expat and blogging communities and the possibilities the city brings, I write to contribute to the conversation about what it means to be an expat and how we can do it and love it. There's a lot to do and a lot I want to share so this blog will serve as a reporting forum, my to-do list, my sounding board, my photo album, and my letter home.
